Ashton | Limon Colorado Senior Photographer

I’ve been on quite the run of male senior sessions, which is so different from what I’m used to, but I’m diggin’ it!

We literally didn’t know if this session was going to happen because 10 minutes before we were supposed to start, it was DOWNPOURING! But, it was apparently meant to be because the clouds parted and the sun came out, and we were ready to roll. I really love shooting after a good rain because it just saturates everything (well duh) and brings out such bold, vibrant colors. Check out how rich everything looks, even the street looks more dramatic after a good rain! Plus those clouds are like a perfect diffuser for light, making every location fair game.

I’ll be honest, scouting locations for sessions is not my favorite. It takes quite a bit of time, and it’s never guaranteed that I’m going to love the images until I’ve actually tested out the location….BUT when you find a good location, it is so rewarding. These little rural Colorado towns have some amazing areas for unique backgrounds, and I was able to find quite a few for this session. I love looking for murals, neat brick and block and that town hall building (those windows!) has had my eye since we moved to Limon.

Take a look at all the different looks we created for Ashton’s senior portraits! He has a great sense of style and of course, we had to work in football to celebrate this THREE state championships! *Cue those beautiful rain clouds again!*
