Maternity photography has become an amazing way to celebrate coming into motherhood. With so many styling options to represent this special time, it can be difficult to narrow down what exactly you want for your portraits. Here I will break down the different maternity session styles I offer and together we can figure out which is perfect for you.
THE INDOOR-LIFESTYLE MATERNITY SESSION
Indoor maternity lifestyle sessions are one of my favorites. This documentary style of photography is perfect for creating an intimate environment for you to tell your story. Many clients shy away from this style of session because they feel that their home does not meet the standards of a portrait session. However, a good photographer will be able to create beautiful imagery anywhere and help coordinate the best places in your home to shoot. And don’t feel shy about the posing either. A photographer should always be able to make you feel comfortable and relaxed at your session, bringing out the most natural interactions between you and your significant other.
Wardrobe for a lifestyle photos is typically very casual and comfy, which in my opinion, is the best part! This session shows clients dressed in simple clothing so that their story shines through in the imagery

THE OUTDOOR-CASUAL MATERNITY SESSION
Moving your casual maternity session to the outdoors may be the perfect move for you and your partner. Outfits remain casual and can include jeans and comfy layers and we can even throw in some blankets and furry companions. It’s the perfect session for couples who are laidback and love the beauty of the outdoors.

THE OUTDOOR-STYLED MATERNITY SESSION
Last but not least, this session is for the mama who wants to feel feminine and fierce for her session. What better time to embrace you womanhood than when you are going through an experience only women can. During my time as a maternity photographer, this style of maternity session is by far my most requested. Most of these formal maternity session take place outdoors, but I am looking to offer these as studio sessions soon as well!
