Head Family Fall Mini Session in Limon, Colorado
The Head family’s fall mini session in Limon, Colorado ended up landing on one of the nicest evenings of the season. We originally had to reschedule because dad got caught on the farm — which is just how life goes out here in rural eastern Colorado — but the new date gave us softer light, warmer temps, and a much better night for photos. Sometimes the change works in your favor.
Fall Mini Session at the Creek Bed in Limon
This session took place down in one of my favorite creek bed spots near Limon. The fall color was hanging on just enough to give us warm tones, and the evening light filtered perfectly through the trees. It’s a simple location, but it photographs beautifully, especially during these late‑season minis.
Marlene’s Style Always Shows Up
One thing about Marlene — she always shows up dressed to kill. Her style is consistently on point, and it brings so much personality to their sessions. The outfits she chose blended perfectly with the fall yellows and browns, giving the whole session a polished but still natural feel.
Two Kids, Great Energy
The Head kids brought the perfect mix of energy and cooperation. Their son (9) and daughter (5) were easygoing, playful, and happy to explore the creek bed between shots. Fall minis move fast, but these two made it simple to capture a mix of posed moments and natural interaction.
Why Fall Minis Work So Well in Rural Eastern Colorado
Families across Limon, Hugo, Flagler, Genoa, and the surrounding rural eastern Colorado towns love fall mini sessions because they’re quick, relaxed, and easy to fit into busy schedules — especially during harvest season. The light this time of year is unbeatable, and even when the color starts to fade, the warm tones and open landscapes still deliver beautiful images.
