The Newsom Family’s Fall Mini Session | Colorado Family Photographer
Ahhh, fall in Colorado—can you beat it? Crisp air, golden trees, cozy sweaters, and families snuggled together by the creek for their annual photos. This year, I was on a mission to find the perfect autumn backdrop for my fall mini sessions, and after some location scouting (one of my favorite parts of the job), I found the dreamiest little spot right along a creek. Not only did it have vibrant fall color, but it also offered easy access for families to pop in and out without any hassle. Total win!
The Newsom family was one of the first to show up for their session, and as always, they came dressed to perfection. I’ve photographed this sweet crew across many seasons, and they never disappoint—always stylish, always relaxed, and always such a joy to photograph. We wrapped up their entire session in just 20 minutes and still captured so many great images and combinations. It was one of those sessions where everything just clicks—good light, good vibes, and beautiful fall color all around.
If you’re not familiar with how my fall mini sessions work, let me give you the scoop. I only offer them once a year during peak fall color season. Each session is just 20 minutes long, which is perfect for families who want updated portraits without the full session time commitment. And trust me, you'd be surprised how many incredible photos we can get in that short amount of time—individual shots of the kids, full family portraits, parent combos—you name it!
Mini sessions are especially great for families with little ones who might not have the patience for a full hour-long session. They’re quick, fun, and low-pressure, which makes them a hit for kids and parents alike. Plus, they’re ideal if you’re just looking to update your family photos for holiday cards, gifts, or that long-overdue gallery wall.
As a Colorado family photographer, my goal is always to make sessions easy, fun, and stress-free. That’s why I spend time scouting locations ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about finding the “right spot.” Whether it’s the golden fields of Eastern Colorado, a cozy creek bed, or a wide-open sky, I take care of the planning so you can just show up and enjoy the moment.
If you're located in or around Limon, Simla, or searching for a Colorado Springs family photographer, these sessions are a great option. I specialize in Eastern Colorado family portraits and offer professional family photography in Colorado that’s designed to be relaxed, meaningful, and a little bit magical.
Mini sessions like the one I did with the Newsoms remind me why I love what I do. Being a Colorado portrait photographer means I get to watch families grow, year after year, season after season. It’s more than just taking pictures—it’s about preserving memories that you’ll look back on and cherish forever.
If you want in on next year’s fall minis (they do book fast!), be sure to get on my email list or reach out for details. I’d love to photograph your family in one of Colorado’s most beautiful seasons.
