Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing the Witt family, and this session was particularly special as it marked their daughter’s 5th birthday and their son’s 1st birthday. We chose a beautiful spot down by the creek, where the fall colors were just beginning to emerge, creating a perfect backdrop for this memorable occasion.

The weather was absolutely perfect, with just the right amount of warmth in the air and a gentle breeze that made the fall leaves dance around us. The lighting couldn’t have been better, casting a soft, golden glow over the entire scene. It was one of those idyllic Eastern Colorado days that remind me why I love being a rural Colorado photographer.

What made this session even more enjoyable was the Witt family’s adorable daughter, who was more than happy to talk my ear off throughout the session. I love it when kids are willing to interact during a photoshoot—it makes my job so much easier and so much more fun! Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious, and it was a joy to capture her playful spirit and sweet bond with her little brother.

We took advantage of the natural beauty of the creekside location, with the emerging fall colors adding a touch of warmth and richness to the images.
