Thompson Maternity Session in Eastern Colorado

I’ve had the privilege of photographing the Thompson family before, starting with their adorable toddler’s newborn session. Now, I’m counting down the days until baby boy Thompson arrives and I get to capture him at my Limon newborn studio too! Watching families grow and being part of their journey is truly one of the best parts of what I do.

For this maternity session, Lexi envisioned a laid-back summer vibe, and the beach creek bed gave us the perfect setting. The warm evening light was absolutely magical—soft and golden, wrapping everything in that dreamy glow. Even though the mosquitos tried to join the session (uninvited, of course), we powered through and got some beautiful shots.

Lexi looked stunning in her summer-inspired outfit, and the mix of flowing fabrics and warm, earthy surroundings really gave the session a relaxed, natural feel. Their sweet toddler kept us all on our toes, adding some fun and energy to the session. It’s always the best when little ones bring their big personalities—it makes for the most genuine moments.

I love seeing returning families because there’s a sense of familiarity and comfort that shines through in the photos. The Thompsons’ love for each other is so apparent in every shot, and I can’t wait to capture that same connection when baby boy Thompson makes his debut.
